Heron (Hero) Formula

Heron's Formula allows you to calculate a triangle's area when you know the length of the three sides.

A = SQRT[s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)]

• A = Area
• SQRT = "Square Root of"
• s = 1/2 of the triangle perimiter = (a + b+ c)/2
• a = Leg 1 of triangle
• b = Leg 2 of triangle
• c = Leg 3 of triangle

Note: The order of the values does matter, you can enter the triangle sides in any order.
